Compliance and content
The compliance queue, content lexicon, registers, gender and age approvals and election silence.
Compliance queue#
Compliance › Compliance queue holds sends blocked by the content screen, sender requests, complaints and other items that need a compliance decision. Each decision needs a reason. An advisory AI classifier may label messages to help reviewers; it never decides on its own.
Content screen lexicon#
Compliance › Content screen maintains the lexicon of hate speech, incitement and ethnic slurs in English, Kiswahili, major local languages and Sheng variants. A hit blocks a send and routes it to the compliance queue; tenants cannot override it. Keep the lexicon current with guidance from the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.
Data protection registers#
Compliance › Data protection registers records:
- the ODPC controller and processor certificates (number, issue and expiry dates);
- the Data Protection Officer's published contact;
- the sub-processor register: service, purpose, country, data processing agreement date and reference, and review date.
The page warns when a certificate expires within 60 days, a registration is missing, or a sub-processor has no signed agreement. It also links to the draft tenant agreement and the draft DPIA, both to be completed and signed with counsel.
Gender and age audiences#
Compliance › Gender and age audiences switches the stated gender and age filters on for an organisation. A reason and acknowledgement are required, and the minimum audience size can be set between 20 and 1,000. See Gender and age filters.
Election silence and kill switches#
- Configure election-silence windows in Platform controls to block promotional sends for all tenants during legally mandated silence periods.
- Operations › Kill switches stops new SMS submissions for the whole platform, one provider or one tenant. A stopped route stays blocked until resumed there.
Complaints#
Recipients can report an unwanted message on the public complaint page using the message reference. Complaints arrive in the compliance queue and set platform-wide suppression for that person.
