People and their records
Masked contacts, statuses, notes, the activity timeline and number-status checks.
Open People to browse the people in your scope. Each record shows a name, masked contacts and a status.
What you can see and change#
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Name | As imported or captured |
| Contacts | Masked phone numbers and emails, with the channel each is reachable on |
| Status | Active, suppressed, deceased or moved |
| Tags | One per line; see Tags and custom fields |
| Notes | Free text for your team. Do not type phone numbers, emails or ID numbers here |
| Custom fields | Text, number, yes/no or choice fields your campaign defined |
Changing a status to suppressed, deceased or moved removes the person from future sends.
The activity timeline#
Each person has a newest-first timeline of everything that involved them: messages sent and their delivery, replies, calls, door visits, USSD sessions, survey answers, event attendance, sign-ups, verification results, donations and tag changes. Filter it by type. The timeline never shows contact values.
Why you cannot see the full number#
Supporters trust you with their details. Sauti keeps those details sealed so that a lost laptop, a leaked spreadsheet or a departing staff member cannot expose them. You can still:
- message the person on any channel they are reachable on;
- call them through the phone bank bridge;
- verify them through supporter verification;
- find them by name or masked reference.
If the law requires a disclosure (for example a court order), contact the Sauti team. Disclosures go through an audited process with a recorded reason.
Correcting a record#
Edit names, statuses, tags, notes and custom fields directly. To correct a phone number or email, the person can text your keyword from the right number, or the Sauti data team can update it through a data subject request.
