Organisation settings
Branding, messaging defaults, quiet hours, frequency caps, approval policy and retention.
Open Settings › Organization. Changes here affect everyone in your organisation, so each save asks for a short reason, which is recorded in the audit trail. You need organisation management permission (owners have it by default).
Profile and branding#
- Display name and tagline appear to your team.
- Logo (PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 1 MB) and primary and accent colours are saved for your organisation's branding.
- Your legal name and campaign end dates are set by the Sauti platform team, because they drive contracts, invoices and retention. Ask them if these need to change.
Messaging defaults#
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Default SMS sender | Pre-selects a sender ID in the composer, or leave it to choose per send |
| Quiet hours | National quiet hours are 21:00 to 07:00 Nairobi time. You can extend them, never shorten them |
| Maximum messages per person | Per day and per week. Your plan can set a lower cap. A cap of zero pauses sends for that period |
| Mandatory legal sender footer | Text added to messages to identify your campaign |
| SMS signature | Text placed before the opt-out instruction |
Every SMS still ends with the required STOP instruction. Opt-out processing cannot be switched off.
Send approval policy#
Decide when a send needs a second person to release it:
- Recipients above this count: sends larger than this number need approval.
- Cost above this amount: sends that would cost more than this need approval.
Role recipient caps apply as well, so a communications officer's large send can still need approval even when the policy above would let it through. See Approvals and content screening.
Team defaults and contacts#
- Default role and default campaign pre-fill new invitations.
- Contact people (up to five) are the team members the Sauti team contacts about your organisation.
Data retention (read only)#
The retention schedule is shown for transparency:
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Person and contact records | 90 days after each campaign's recorded end, then deleted or anonymised |
| Uploaded source files | 30 days after import |
| Messages and delivery logs | Campaign end plus 12 months |
| Consent and opt-out records | 5 years |
| Audit trail | 5 years |
| Financial records | 7 years |
Tenant agreement#
Download the draft services and data processing agreement from this page and review it with your legal adviser before signing. It sets out who is responsible for what under the Data Protection Act, 2019.
